GIBS TUTH : Symposium on IC/BPS

GIBS TUTH
Symposium on Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome
13th January 2024

@BARAHI HOTEL, Thamel, Kathmandu

Dear Professor
Greetings from Kathmandu!!!

The science of medicine is under constant evolution in all aspects. The pain arising from bladder has intrigued physicians and caregivers due to multitude of causative pathways. Initial attempts with treatment of antibiotics may be frustrating and the perception of disease process changes rapidly from one of organic origin to psychological one in most patients.

This is primarily due to lack of objective evidence of ‘pathology’ in these patients. This leads to piling up misery for the patient, as now the patient is suffering from insinuations from close family members in addition to the debilitating pain arising out of bladder. Bladder pain syndrome, of which Hunner’s lesion disease is now more than a constituent, has been spoiling many a happy family.

The flares of pain that these patients suffer just when they are trying to get positive are devastating, resulting in last minute cancellation of family trips and celebrations. The science of this disease is evolving, and we have a unique opportunity to be part of the history of evolution if the same.

Global Interstitial Cystitis Bladder pain society (GIBS) provides opportunities to share knowledge and build ideas. This upcoming Symposium of Global Interstitial Cystitis Bladder Pain Society (GIBS) in Kathmandu, Nepal is being put together with a theme ‘Containing The Bladder Blaze’. I invite you to indulge in the scientific bonanza along with witnessing the multicultural capital of the country.

Looking forward to welcoming you in person.

With Warm Regards,
Global Interstitial Cystitis Bladder Pain Society, India.
